October 5th., 2007 – We need one more night of learning and exploring the ins’n outs of the NXT system, and then we’ll start using it in GRIP Build Off’s. Come and learn as much as you can in the next GRIP meeting. for the use of the Lego Mindstorms NXT systems.
September 7th Meeting

GRIP is training the next generation of Robot builders. At this meeting GRIP members will start learning the Lego Mindstorms NXT systems. We will learn a few basics about programming and building techniques. In future meetings we will have GRIP build offs using Lego Mindstorm. So start building your Mindstorms skills and become a valuable team member. Special thanks goes to Piedmont Tech. for the use of the Lego Mindstorms NXT systems.
Review of the August meeting:

We had approximately 20 people in attendance. Piedmont Tech. was very gracious to let us use their lab and Fischertechnik equipment. We learned programming of the Fischertechnik devices. Everyone was able to understand the simple programming methods and some were able to complete more difficult challenges.

7:00 to 7:15 – Discussion about the GRIP T-Shirts
8:00 to 9:30 – Featured Activity fischertechnik®: Kevin more & Bill Ware will introduction fischertechnik after witch members can experiment with them. Fischertechnik is the
flexible construction system for young and older system designers alike. Produced in Germany to high standards, these robot kits allow a multitude of systems and 3D models to be created by slotting precision-engineered parts together.
As always, members are encouraged to bring there home projects to discussion or help from other members. We look forward to see in you there.
